In the past 5 years the Practice has invested heavily in training architectural staff to gain specialist expertise in this critical field of 'energy conservation'. Five of our architects are accredited assessors for the Code for Sustainable Homes, two are qualified to issue E.P.C.s and seven are accredited 'SAP' assessors. Most of our new residential schemes achieve level 3 of the 'code', we are now designing schemes at level 4. One director is trained under the EU parallel system of 'PassiveHouse' assessment. The benefit of this specialisation is that the design process begins with consideration of sustainability. We try to achieve our objectives without introducing complex control systems.
